BagPipe Day

Bagpipes belong in a class of musical instruments known a aerophones. The instrument works through a series of enclosed reeds fed from a constant reservoir of air in the form of a bag. Bagpipes have been played for centuries and continue to be played. Throughout Europe, Turkey, Persian Gulf, North Africa and North America as well as Scotland you will find those that play the bag pipes. The highland of Scotland are the most popular for playing bag pipes. 




While there are many pieces to a set of bagpipes The main pieces consist of


Blowpipe where the air supply is blow through 
Bag that holds the air reservoir in the past made of animal skin and more frequently synthetic
Chanter that helps make the sound that the set of bag pipes produce
Drone that continues to make harmonizing note
