If you are like me then you often pay attention to the weather man. It helps to know a bit of what might be in store. Have you ever wondered who was behind all those weather graphs and maps?? Well I want to introduce you to Cleaveland Abbe.
Cleveland Abbe was born in New York City December 3rd 1838. He was an American meteorologist and advocate for time zones. He was the director of the Cincinnati Observatory in Cincinnati Ohio. It was during that time that he developed a system of telegraphic weather reports, daily weather maps and weather forecasts. He earned the nickname of "Old Probability" for the reliability of his forecasts as well as the father of the National Weather Service as he was the first head of the new service.
