Do you know quince

Quince is one of the foods celebrated in December. Have you ever heard of a quince or cooked with it? It belongs in the same family with apples and pears. Quince grow on small deciduous tree that bears fruit. The quince resembles a pear and when mature is a bright golden yellow color. Quince are grown both for the beauty of the tree and the pink blossom and ornamental quality but also because the fruit can be enjoyed as well.

The tree itself will grow between 16 to 26 feet tall. The fruit it produces will be between 3 and 5 inches long. The tree is found naturally in rocky slopes and woodlands in South West Asia, Turkey and Iran.
