With all the new gun laws going on thought that it might be  great interest to share with you that today is Pistol Patent Day. Exactly what is that ? It is the day that commemorates the U.S. patent #138 that Samuel Colt received in 1836. The patent was or the Colt Revolver.

Who exactly was Samuel Colt?
Samuel Colt was born in Hartford CT. on July 19, 1814 While a student of navigation he had an interest in mechanics. While sailing as a seaman he took note of how the ship's wheel worked and later created used this idea to create the Colts revolving cylinder. It helped to revolutionize the multiple shot design
