Thankful Thursday My Job
Wow!!! Today has been a whirl wind of a day. Only one day off at a time then several more days back to work. I am thankful for having a job that is for sure. Thankful that where I work I do not have to worry about missing work unless I need to or fear of losing my job. That is more than mny can say.

BLT Wraps
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup dried tomatoes in oil, drained and chopped
8 (10-inch) flour tortillas
1 large head iceberg lettuce, chopped
1 medium onion, thinly sliced (optional)
16 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
Combine mayonnaise and tomatoes in a small bowl. Spread evenly over 1 side of each tortilla, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
Layer lettuce, onions, and bacon evenly over tortillas; sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Roll up tortillas; cut in half diagonally, and secure with wooden pick.

Take Chicken Wings To The Party
One thing that every super bowl party needs is chicken wings. YUMMY!!! and so good.
3 lb. chicken wings, split at joints, tips removed
1 cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce
1/4 cup orange juice
2 Tbsp. honey
HEAT oven to 400°F.
PLACE chicken in foil-lined 15x10x1-inch pan. Bake 30 min. Transfer chicken to slow cooker; discard drippings.
MIX remaining ingredients. Pour over chicken; stir to evenly coat. Cover with lid.
COOK on LOW 5 to 6 hours (or on HIGH 2-1/2 to 3 hours).

85g butter
1/3 cup plain yogurt
German chocolate cake mix
1 cup (250ml) Coca Cola
2 cups (250g) plain flour
1 1/3 cups (300g) white sugar
1 teaspoon bicarb soda
1/2 cup (125ml) buttermilk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease and flour two 20cm cake
tins.
In a
medium saucepan heat butter, yoghurt, chocolate and cola until chocolate is
completely melted
In a
large bowl mix flour, sugar and bicarb soda. Add chocolate mixture, buttermilk,
eggs and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Pour batter into tins.
Bake
at 180 degrees C for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into cake
comes out clean.
Coca Cola Tres Leches Cake
Yields about 20 servings (recipe source cooking classy)
1 (15.25 oz) box Devil’s Food Cake Mix (such as Betty Crocker)
1 1/4 cups Coca Cola or Cherry Coca Cola
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
4 large eggs
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
2/3 cup evaporated milk (1 5oz can)
2/3 cup heavy cream
1 cup Coca Cola or Cherry Coca Cola
Sweetened Whipped Cream Frosting:
1 1/3 cups heavy cream
1/4 cup granulated sugar
(Note: if you like cool whip you could use that instead, I just prefer the real thing)
Red Sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles or crushed cherry lollipops (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl combine cake mix, 1 1/4 cups Coca Cola, vegetable oil and eggs. Blend ingredients together using an electric mixer, on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase speed to medium and blend mixture for 2 minutes. Pour mixture and evenly spread into a greased 13×9 baking dish. Bake 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Remove from oven and allow cake to cool for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, in medium mixing bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk and 2/3 cup heavy cream. Add in 1 cup Coca Cola and mix until combined. Poke cake every 1/2″-1″ with a long tinned fork. Slowly pour Coca Cola milk mixture evenly over entire cake. Allow cake to rest, uncovered for 30 minutes at room temperature. Cover cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour (or overnight) until cake has cooled completely and the majority of the milk mixture has been absorbed.
In a mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Stir in granulated sugar and whip until stiff peaks form. Spread sweetened whipped cream evenly over cooled cake. Sprinkle frosted cake with optional sprinkles or crushed lollipops. Serve immediately (note: when cutting and plating I’d recommend using a spatula to lift cake from pan, this isn’t one of those cakes you can plate using a fork). Store cake in refrigerator (note that the sweetened whip cream will begin to separate after about 3 hours).

Print off picture of groundhog or draw your own. Cut out the groundhog
picture and glue it to the popsicle stick leaving some of the stick hanging down
from the bottom of the picture. Colour the toilet tube to make the groundhog a
hole to jump out of. Insert groundhog puppet into the tube and let him jump out
to look for his shadow

Valentine Card Cookies
nestle toll house recipe
- 2 packages (16.5 ounces each) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Sugar Cookie Bar Dough
- 1/2 cup pink, red and/or white frosting or decorator icing
- 21 NESTLÉ BUTTERFINGER Hearts
- Pink, red and/or white candy sprinkles or hearts
- 21 small cellophane treat bags with ribbon or twist ties
Directions
PREHEAT oven to 325° F. Line 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch
jelly-roll pan with foil.
PLACE two whole bars of dough in prepared pan. Allow to soften for 5 to 10 minutes. Using palms and fingertips, pat dough gently to fill the pan.
BAKE for 22 to 25 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack for 30 minutes. Invert onto wire rack; peel away foil. Cut away edges of dough to form a 14 x 9-inch rectangle. Measure and cut this rectangle into twenty-one 2 x 3-inch individual rectangles.
SPREAD frosting over cookie cards; top with Nestlé Hearts and candies. Allow frosting to harden slightly (about 30 minutes) before putting into bags.

Recycled cereal box or other thin cardboard
Pencil

Construction paper: pink, purple, red, and blue
Markers, crayons or paint pens
Glue sticks
Yarn for hanger (optional)
Pattern
Trace around the 9" plate onto the cardboard.
Use your pen or pencil to draw another circle inside that one, about an inch away from the outside circle.
Cut out the circle and the center of the circle to create a cardboard wreath base.
Fold a piece of scrap paper in half. Using the heart pattern line up the fold line of the scrap paper with the dotted line of the pattern. Cut out the shape so that when you open it, you have a heart shape.
Fold the short end of a piece of construction paper up about 3 inches. Place the folded heart around the folded paper and trace the half heart shape into the paper. You should be able to fit three hearts on the paper. Repeat this step for each colored piece of paper; you will have a total of 12 hearts. Cut out all the hearts and flatten out the creases so that the hearts lay flat. Using markers, crayons, or paint pens, write conversation candy phrases on the hearts such as "LOVE", "HUBBA HUBBA", "SWEET", "LOVE", "BE MINE", "KISS" and "PAL".
Arrange your hearts on top of the cardboard wreath shape without gluing them down. Once you have them where you want them, use the glue stick to attach each one. You can hang the wreath as is or attach a piece of looped yarn to the back as a hanger.

Valentine Snack Mix
- 4 1/2 Cups Rice Chex Cereal
- 1/2 Cup White Vanilla Baking Chips
- 1/4 Cup Peanut Butter
- 2 Tablespoons Butter or Margarine
- 1/3 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Red, White, and Pink M&M's
- 2 Tablespoons Sprinkles
- Measure out 4 1/2 Cups of Rice Chex into Large Bowl.
- Melt together White Vanilla Baking Chips, Peanut Butter, and Butter. Stir frequently.
- Meanwhile, pour Powdered Sugar into plastic bag.
- Pour melted chocolate, peanut butter, and butter mixture over the large bowl of Rice Chex cereal.
- Stir.
- Divide into half. Pour half the coated Rice Chex into plastic powdered sugar bag.
- Shake to coat.
- Pour onto wax paper to set for 15 minutes.
- To remaining Rice Chex cereal without the Powdered Sugar coating, add the M&M's and the Sprinkles.
- Pour onto wax paper and let set for 15 minutes.
- When set, combine into one bowl.
- Easy, peasy--and pretty!

Valentine Dessert Idea
Strawberry Shortcake Trifle
recipe source hereMakes 6 Strawberry Shortcake Trifle Desserts (6 X 8-ounce cup capacity) & 4 Strawberry-Cranberry Jelly Desserts (4 X 8-ounce cup capacity)
- Strawberry Jelly
- Sweetened Whipped Cream
- Angel Food Cake - Store-bought or homemade
Strawberry Jelly
(From Donna Hay Magazine – Issue 54)- 500 g (2 heaping cups) fresh strawberries, sliced
- 2½ teaspoons gelatine powder
- 3 cups (750 ml) cranberry juice
- ½ cup caster (superfine granules) sugar
- Wash, hull and slice the strawberries. Refrigerate until ready to assemble trifles.
- Place the gelatine and ½ cup cranberry juice in a bowl and stir to combine. Set aside for 5 minutes or until the gelatine is absorbed.
- Place the remaining cranberry juice and sugar in a small-sized saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Bring to the boil and cook for 1 minute.
- Remove from heat, add the gelatine and stir to combine.
- Transfer the jelly to a heatproof pouring vessel. Set aside to cool for 20 minutes.
- Remove the strawberries from the refrigerator. Arrange the strawberries in the base of the dessert cups and pour over the jelly mixture.
- Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours until set.
Sweetened Whipped Cream
Assembling Strawberry Shortcake Trifle
- Using a serrated knife cut 6 slices (1.9-cm /¾-inch wide) of Angel Food Cake. Using a cookie cutter cut the Angel Food Cake to fit in the base of the dessert cup and place on top of the set strawberry jelly.
- Transfer the Sweetened Whipped Cream to a large pastry bag fitted with a large plain tip.
- Pipe the Sweetened Whipped Cream around and on top of the Angel Food Cake round. Using the back of a demitasse spoon spread the whipped cream to smooth out the layer (making sure cake round is completely covered).
- Change plain tip to a decorative tip, pipe a decorative mound in the centre.
- Garnish with sliced strawberries and serve.

1 8 oz. Cream cheese
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. sour cream
8 oz. Frozen Whipped Topping (thawed)
2 large container of fresh strawberries
Wash strawberries and remove berry tops. Slice strawberries.
Sprinkle granulated sugar over strawberries. Cut Angel Food
cake into 1-inch squares. Set aside. Blend together cream
cheese, vanilla, powdered sugar, and sour cream until smooth.
Fold in Whipped topping. In a trifle bowl layer ingredients
starting with half the cake cubes, then half of the sliced berries,
and then half of the cream cheese mixture. Repeat layers and
garnish with strawberries.
