apple dumplings

Love this easy to make recipe for something so sweet and fall like as apple dumplings. I found this recipe on a great blog from tennessee check it out here

1 large Granny Smith apple
1 stick of margarine or butter
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of Sprite
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 can of crescent rolls

Peel and cut apple into eight equal pieces. Wrap each piece of apple in a crescent roll, starting at the large end of the roll. Mix the other ingredients and heat until sugar melts. Put crescent rolls with the apple in a 9 x 13 pan that has been sprayed with oil. Pour the liquid over the apples. Cook at 350° degrees until brown and bubbly (about 25 minutes). You will want to double this recipe because they will go fast! (I like to spoon some of the liquid over the rolls after they are done.)

TeenyMates

Do you have a fan of football in your family? I sure do and while they love to play football they can not always find time to participate as much as they would like to. That i why I love teenymates. With the world being such a busy place there are times when you may have just a few seconds to fool around and for any busy football player TeenyMates are perfect.

TeenyMates are 1-inch quarterbacks figures representing all of the major NFL teams that join the Lil’ Teammates family.

These tiny 1" tall, officially licensed NFL figures for any lover of football from ages 4 and up. Great for fun to play with as well as to collect and trade. Each foil pack of teenmates comes with 2 random quarterbacks and 2 puzzle pieces. This makes it a lot of fun to see what your next purchase will be. As a kid I can remember trading cards with friends Teenymates will provide the same fun and excitement in my opinion.

There is a total of 32 NFL quarterbacks and 35 duble sided puzzle pieces. There are also 3 hard t find rare figures which include a throwback QB, a metallic gold QB and a glow in the dark QB. The double sided puzzle allows you to build either a cllector mini poster featuring all 32 QBs or a football field display set.
Look for TeenyMates at Target, team shops, and sporting goods, gift and toy stores across the nation for a suggested retail price of $3.99 each.

Great Pumpkin Cake

1 pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix

1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

1/4 cup butter, softened

4 cups powdered sugar

Few drops each green, red and yellow food coloring

1 COMET Cup

PREPARE cake batter and bake in 12-cup fluted tube pan as directed on package. Cool in pan 10 min. Invert cake onto wire rack; remove pan. Cool cake completely.
MEANWHILE, beat cream cheese and butter in medium bowl with mixer until well blended. Gradually beat in sugar until well blended. Spoon 1/2 cup frosting into small bowl; stir in green food coloring until well blended. Spread half the green frosting onto outside of ice cream cone; set aside. Reserve remaining frosting for later use.
ADD red and yellow food colorings to remaining white frosting to tint it orange. Spread onto cake to resemble pumpkin. Invert ice cream cone in hole in top of cake for the pumpkin's stem. Pipe the reserved green frosting in vertical lines down side of cake.

Boogers on a Stick

For this gruesome snack you will need cheez whiz, food color and pretzel rods. Mix cheez whiz and green food coloring til the cheese turns green. When it gets to the shade you want it you can stop mixing and adding food coloring. Dip the pretzel rod in the cheese leaving only a short amount at the end

The Stuff of Success nifty thrifty tuesday

autumn salad

whether you are in search of a salad recipe to serve with your fall inspired recipes or you are planning ahead to Thanksgiving you will love this recipe as the colors and flowers to me all say Autumn

Autumn Chopped Salad

*6 to 8 cups chopped romaine lettuce
*2 medium pears, chopped
*1 cup dried cranberries
*1 cup chopped pecans
*8 slices thick-cut bacon, crisp-cooked and crumbled
*4 to 6 oz. feta cheese, crumbled
*Poppy seed Salad Dressing (I like T. Marzetti)
*Balsamic Vinaigrette (I like Newman’s Own Light Balsamic Vinaigrette)

On a large platter, combine the lettuce, pears, cranberries, pecans, bacon and feta cheese. Drizzle generously with poppy seed dressing, followed by some of the balsamic vinaigrette. (I would estimate that I used about a cup of dressing: 70 percent poppy seed dressing and 30 percent balsamic vinaigrette) If you prefer your salad to have more dressing, feel free to experiment with the combination.

Meal Plan 3rd week October

We will be having some yummy recipes this week. Love it when the leaves on the trees start turning and the fall air gets just a bit crisp. Today we took time out to go down and sit by the river and enjoy the beauty in the world that God had once again repainted to fit into the fall theme of life.

The beauty in Gods Coloring book is simply amazing. Makes for lovely days when the sun shines.

Our meal plan this week includes

Hash (a quick hamburger and potato mix often served on bread creating an open face sandwich)

Cheeseburger dip a microwave recipe

meatloaf a martha stewart recipe

night out

chicken wings

grilled ham and cheese

what will you be enjoying this week?
