Resolution of Independence

While the 4th of July is a day of celebration it was the days leading up to the 4th that made the American 4th of July what it is. The colonies in America had decided to come together to form a Resolution of Independence. The legal separation of the 13 colonies from Great Britian happened on July 2, 1776. It was on July 4th that it was actually signed after voting for independence and debating and revising the declaration.
