In Other Words

hosted this week by Tami at The Next Step

Our view of the Holy Spirit is too small.
The Holy Spirit is the One who changes the church,
but we have to remember that the Holy Spirit lives in us.
It is individual people living Spirit-filled lives
that will change the church.”

To me this speaks of how the Holy Spirit is alive in the church but it is the action of the people that allow the Holy Spirit to move or not. All too often it is the small select group that is willing to work the bible school, Sunday school, and other activities. Whether this is because others are not willing to help or that a select group has captured the corner on taking care of church activities. If we allow the Holy Spirit to work with in us he will be able to work with in the church and their is always enough work for all who want to work. It is through the Holy Spirit that we will be able to change the church. Without it our best intentions are never good enough

  2. Sadly, we often squelch the Holy Spirit, thwarting any change he wants to bring about in us and in the church. Shaking my head in sadness.
