I just feel as if I have such a bond with many of my blogging friends. For all of you who looked at my blog and thought there was a problem with my header all I can say is you are right. I did have problem with my header and did not know how to figure it out. After working on my blog for about an hour and wanting to a large flea market I left to come back. I want to say thank you to one special person who helped me out immensely. When I arrived back home to check my email I had one there from a dear blogger friend Ilissa. She had helped me out by creating the header I had been working on and sending to me in the email. Thank you Ilissa.

Slanket Review and Giveaway

Fall, football weather, and October always mean one thing changing temps. Now if you live somewhere where it the weather is always comfortable then I envy you. If you live in a state like mine where the temps change as the season does then the Slanket is here to save the day. You can eat popcorn and use the remote while staying warm under the slanket or do any thing at all because the slanket is the blanket that allows you to move about using your hands as needed.

The slanket was designed solely for the purpose of staying warm and moving your arms and hands by a college student who while experiencing the bitterness of cold weather in Maine but needed his hands to use the t.v. remote. After ripping holes in his sleeping bag he decided there had to be a better way. Thus the idea of the Slanket was dreamed up and would be created.

Would you like to win a slanket of your own? Gary the man behind the great Slanket would like to offer one of Annies Home readers a Slanket of their own.

Vintage Recipe Potato Candy

Potato Candy recipe

2 (1 lb.) boxes powdered sugar
1/2 c. hot mashed potatoes, drained
1 sm. jar crunchy peanut butter

Mix sifted sugar into potatoes a little at a time by hand. (Don't panic when potatoes liquify as the first sugar is added. This is what it's supposed to do. Just keep adding sugar until it is pastry consistency.) Sprinkle wax paper with additional powdered sugar. Take baseball-sized ball of mixture and roll out like pastry. Spread with peanut butter and roll like a jelly roll. Wrap rolls in plastic wrap; chill and slice.

My mom makes this every year in the fall and at holiday time. Delicious!!!!!!

this recipe is great because it takes simple ingredients and is super frugal as well.
