  2. I learned that Mandel bread is often referred to as “Jewish biscotti,” although there are several key differences between the two. Traditional biscotti is not made with butter or oil — and is much harder than mandel bread. Mandel bread has a much lighter and crunchier texture, somewhere between biscotti and a cookie. Also, all of Marla’s Mandel Bread products contain a sweet dusting of cinnamon sugar

  7. Mandel bread is similar to Italian biscotti, has its roots in Eastern Europe and is also known as mondel brodt, mondel brot, mondelbrodt, mondelbrot, mandelbrodt, mandelbrot, and mondel bread. Both Italian biscotti and mandel bread are baked two or three times, and the key difference between the two is texture. Mandel bread is not as hard or dense as Italian biscotti, and has a sweet cinnamon sugar coating on every piece.

  16. I signed up for their newsletter. I'm wondering if the term "Mandel bread" is a regional thing, since I'm Jewish and I never heard of biscotti referred to as Mandel bread. Either way, it sounds delish! asthenight at gmail dot com

  24. i thought that Marla's Mandel Bread was founded by the mother-daughter team of Marla Templer and Rachael Halstuk in 2008. Marla and Rachael have put a contemporary twist on this classic treat — offering a variety of delicious flavors and sending each order in delightful packaging. was interesting.
