In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.
This week will see another milestone in my daughters life as well as mine. She will graduate from highschool. I know that this will be both a happy and sad time for all of us.
My question for you is:
What advice would you give my daughter who will be graduating from highschool and entering into another stage of her life that as college student.

  4. Study hard, take college seriously, the first year has been known to ruin many a GPA. College can be great fun, but not something I would care to repeat and I did go on to graduate school. There are a lot of temptations in college, stay true to yourself.

  5. Have fun but stay safe.

Don't make any big decisions in haste.

And I agree, listen to your mom. She only wants the best for you. If I had listened to my mom, I wouldn't have made decisions that I later regretted.

  7. Don't be a follower be a leader. Don't give in to temptation! Don't give in to the college atmosphere, all the parting. Be smart! Your decision could ruin your life if you make the wrong one.

  8. Find a strong group of friends in college. I didn't and I ended up moving back home after 2 years of terribleness.

  9. Get out there and meet people. Be open to new friends, new experiences, new ideas etc.

  10. Don't sweat your major, that is what the first two years are for but make a decision by the time you hit your sophomore year.

  11. Just study hard and enjoy having good friends around. College is a bit tougher coz it's the real thing closest to your future.
