Stay hydrated : Drink Water



Drinking water is very important to our health. It is also a great tool in the weight loss journey. Water hydrates you, keeps you from being hungry, helps your muscles and flushes out all sorts of bad stuff. How much water should you drink??

One quick trick is to divide your weight (lbs) by 2 the number that is left is the number of ounces of water you should drink For example a lady that weights 160 lbs divided by 2 is 80 which is 10 (8 oz) glasses of water. Besides weight loss there are several other great reasons to drink water. These reasons include:

  • water is a natural remedy for headaches. One of the top reasons for headaches and back aches is dehydration. So staying hydrated should help
  • water can help your skin look healthier and younger. Skin that is properly hydrated looks younger and the water will help to replenish skin tissue, moisturizes skin and increase skin elasticity
  • Water can help you with productivity at work. Your brain is made up primarily of water and drinking more water will help you think clearly, be more alert and have the ability to concentrate
  • Drinking water can help your digestive track. Water can help raise your metabolism because it helps with digestion. Fiber and water go hand in hand so you will have more regular BMs as well
  • You exercise routines will increase as drinking water helps regulate body temp and help you feel energetic as the water helps fuel your muscles Proper hydration will help decrease cramps and sprains by helping joints and muscles stay lubricated
  • Drinking water helps lessen chance of getting sick. Staying hydrated helps support the immune system and helps fight flu and other ailments like kidney stones and heart attack. 
  • Water is used by the body to flush out toxins and waste. Staying hydrated helps the bodies organs work as they should. Some studies show that drinking plenty of water can help reduce risk of bladder and colon cancer
  • Staying hydrated helps keep you in a good mood.
